Who operates the service
Clear About Us is published and operated by DowidAI, currently an independent product studio. Privacy requests can be sent to dowidaisupport@gmail.com.
Data minimization
You can use the questionnaire without creating an account or providing a name, phone number, or email address. Private rooms use random links and participant tokens.
Cookies and browser storage
We do not use advertising cookies. Browser storage helps preserve a draft, a recent private link and preferences. A necessary cookie may support a protected administrator session. Privacy settings let you allow or reject optional visit analytics, public-page performance and referral measurement. Until you allow it, Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights are not loaded and campaign labels are not stored. Rejecting removes local campaign labels. Your analytics choice and separate AI permission are remembered for 180 days in this browser and domain: only the version, decision and choice time are stored, not conversations or a visitor identifier. A new choice is requested when terms materially change or the preference expires. Withdraw AI permission in the chat; change analytics through the footer settings. Technical security counters and service-operation events described below are not disabled by this choice. Clearing browser data removes preferences and can make an unsaved draft or remembered link unavailable.
What we process
Calculator analytics is optional. With analytics permission, we keep a random identifier for one calculator opening, language, test flag, interaction/export flags and the last explicitly selected state and scenario options for up to 90 days. The identifier stays only in page memory and is not linked to rooms or browser profiles. We do not collect entered amounts, income, savings, guest counts, children/property switches, names, IP addresses or referral URLs in this counter. Defaults are not choices; opens are not unique people, and a CSV click does not confirm a saved file. Withdrawal stops future measurements but does not erase previously submitted snapshots. Older records are removed on the next write.
- Free mini-deck downloads: a cookie-free counter stores only the PDF version, language, paper size, request time and a test flag for up to 90 days. No IP address, browser identifier, referrer or answers are stored in this counter. It counts PDF responses prepared, not unique people or confirmed saves. Repeated and automated requests may count. This counter does not depend on optional visit analytics; the file remains free if counting fails.
- Questionnaire choices, written answers, selected models, and saved discussion results.
- Anonymous product events such as opening a partner link, copying an invitation, or viewing a result. They are tied to a private room, but our analytics table does not store a name, email address, or IP address.
- Only after optional analytics permission, acquisition measurement may store campaign labels, referring hostname, landing hostname and first public-page path for up to 30 days. These fields exclude the referring page query, search phrases, IP addresses and questionnaire content. Labels are attached only when a private room is created while permission is active. Withdrawal deletes local labels and stops future attachment, but does not erase historical measurements already submitted.
- Optional anonymous completion feedback about how you heard about the service and whether it helped start a conversation.
- With optional analytics permission, Vercel receives public-page visit and performance measurements, including page path, browser/device information and approximate country. Query parameters are removed and private-room, saved-agreement and admin events are excluded. Withdrawal stops future optional events, including from scripts already loaded in this tab.
- Optional feedback messages and an email address only when you choose to provide one. Partnership inquiries can also include a name or project name and an optional public website or profile link.
- Basic technical and security logs created by hosting and database providers.
Operational notifications
The service owner may receive a private operational email when a participant gives a first answer and when both participants finish. It contains the room code, selected family and relationship models, participant position, interface language, and event time. It does not contain questionnaire answers, participant email addresses, IP addresses, or private access links.
Public article comments
Submitted article comments are reviewed before publication and become public only after approval. A name or nickname is optional; do not include private information. To limit spam and repeated reports, we transform the request address into a keyed, rotating technical hash. We do not store the raw IP address in the comments database. Comments and reports may be retained for moderation, hidden after community reports, or removed when necessary to protect users or operate the service.
Sharing between partners
Each participant answers separately. Depending on the visibility choice, individual answers may be shown after both participants finish, or only a summary may be shown. Anyone who receives a valid private link may be able to access that participant’s part of the room, so do not forward it.
AI-assisted recommendations and draft pilot
Questionnaire content is sent for AI recommendations only after the required participant consent. To create a draft, both participants confirm the current notes (which may be empty) and separately consent to AI use of the shared notes, family model, questionnaire topics, and comparison labels. Individual answers are included only if both participants chose to share answers and consented to that sharing; otherwise hidden answers are not sent for drafting. Earlier note-only AI consents do not authorize this broader draft use. Shared notes, generated text, edits, and consent state are stored in the private room and can be accessed by either participant with a valid link. AI output may be incomplete or mistaken and is not professional advice or a legal agreement.
Optional voice transcription
A participant may record a short voice note while completing a private questionnaire or editing shared notes and drafts. The audio is sent through Vercel AI Gateway to a transcription provider. The service does not store the audio file in the private room; it stores only minimal usage metadata without the transcript. The transcript first appears as unsaved editable text in the current field and is stored only when the participant saves or submits that field. Do not record another person without their knowledge or include highly sensitive information.
Saved draft beta
In the free beta, once both participants confirm the exact draft text, an initial bilingual version and participant access-token hashes are stored separately from the seven-day questionnaire room. Both participants can then read, download, and propose revisions without payment. A new version becomes current only after both approve it. Approved versions and brief change notes remain visible through individual private links. No payment or legal signature is collected in this beta. Earlier Preview sandbox tests may retain test-session records; document text was not sent to Stripe.
Optional email recovery and product requests
If you choose to link an email to a questionnaire room or saved draft, we send a one-time confirmation through our email provider. Each partner verifies their own address separately. The active database stores a keyed hash of the normalized address rather than the address itself, plus short-lived confirmation or recovery token hashes. The email provider processes the address and the message for delivery. A verified address can receive one-time recovery links for that participant’s active rooms and drafts; using one replaces only that participant’s private link. Email recovery does not extend an item’s expiry. If you join a product early-access list, the address is stored with that request and may receive an immediate confirmation plus later updates about that product. You can continue using the relationship service without an email.
Closing, deletion, and retention
Each participant can replace their own private saved-document link; the old link then stops opening that saved document. Either participant may close the saved space for new edits; both must agree to reopen it. Either may request deletion, which pauses editing; the saved document and its version history are deleted from the active database only after both request it. If this is the last saved document from the questionnaire room, that room and its answers are also deleted from the active database. An unexpired saved link normally works for one year from the initial version or latest jointly approved change. Expiration prevents normal access but does not itself delete data. Backups, hosting logs, and already downloaded files may remain outside the active database. Feedback may be retained while useful for responding and improving the service.
Sensitive information
Do not enter passwords, Social Security numbers, bank account or card numbers, medical records, or confidential legal documents.
Optional public AI assistant
After you agree to AI processing, messages you send and recent turns in this chat go through Vercel AI Gateway to an AI provider. The assistant cannot access private rooms, questionnaire answers, or saved agreements. The site does not save chat transcripts in its database or browser storage; the conversation remains in page memory until cleared or reloaded. Gateway and model providers may retain technical logs under their policies. We request routing that disallows prompt training; this is not a zero-retention guarantee. Temporary request counts and daily keyed IP hashes, not raw IP addresses or chat content, are stored for abuse prevention. Expired counters are removed during subsequent successful requests. AI guidance is not therapy, legal advice, or an emergency service.
We keep daily aggregate request, error, token, latency and transcription-duration counters, separated by language and test traffic. Only with separate optional consent do we count a broad topic of each subsequent question to inform article and video ideas. We do not save or publish the question itself. Sensitive safety topics are excluded from marketing insights; categories use keyword rules and are not diagnoses. Reports show a category after five questions, not five unique people. Counters are kept for 90 days and older counters are removed on the next analytics write. Withdrawing topic consent stops future topic counts; already anonymous aggregates cannot be linked back to you.
Voice input is optional and starts only after separate agreement and microphone permission. A recording is limited to 30 seconds and goes through AI Gateway for transcription; the site does not retain the audio or transcript. Review and edit the text before sending it to the assistant. Read-aloud is optional, uses your device/browser speech service and never starts automatically. That service may process text in the cloud under your browser or operating-system provider’s policies; an on-device voice is preferred when available. Closing or clearing the chat stops recording and playback.
Children’s privacy
The service is intended for adults age 18 and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 submitted such information, we will delete it from the active database. A parent or legal guardian may contact us at the address below.
